Hummingbird Aviation is an FAA Approved Flight School offering approved courses from initial pilot certification through instructor pilot privileges. Additional approved specialty courses from VFR Recurrency, IFR Recurrency, up to Helicopter External-Load Training are also offered. Training is offered in both airplanes and helicopters. Type-rating training is also offered in the Sikorsky SK-58 and SK-61.

Hummingbird Aviation has provided training to National Transportation Safety Board Accident Investigators, Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation Test Pilots, Chevron, Blackwater USA, Federal Aviation Administration Helicopter Inspectors, Connecticut State Police, Louisiana State Police, West Palm Beach Police Department, New York City Police Department, and many other professional organizations. In addition to certification training, crew recurrency, and type-rating training, Hummingbird Aviation offers specialized programs in Search-and-Rescue (SAR), to include aircrew and deployed rescue swimmer training. This includes search and localization tactics, recovery and EMS functions for fixed-wing and helicopter crews. 

Hummingbird Aviation has experience in assisting new aviation departments and units with establishing Standardized Procedures and internal Training Programs for law enforcement and military units, dealing with non-traditional missions and operations.
